    What color is this silkie?

    I hatched this baby last week from a silkie egg labeled blk aka black (I don’t know much else about the chickens in the breeding pen). It looks sort of blue and sort of partridge! I’m curious what color it may be?

    I’m raising my first little bantam flock and am loving seeing all my chicks personalities blossom! I’ve hand raised them and they are extremely docile/accepting of some cuddling, but sometimes are skittish and weary. If they stayed this way forever, I’d be thrilled to have such sweet feathered...

    @kurby22 I’m so glad this thread has been helpful! My porcelains sure seem to be a pair right now! Who I love dearly. I think the pink on my guy was brighter after looking at Ang’s pics again, whose girl gave me a lot of hope! I think it goes to show that there’s variation and things can change...

    I so appreciate everyone chiming in! I’ve learned so much : ) And I’m definitely happy to hear I can keep some hope alive for 3! It will be interesting to see development over the next week or two. Either way duccles have quickly stollen my heart..I’ll need to get some MF pullets asap 😅
