    November 2016 Hatch-a-long!!

Nice Incubator! Just a suggestion, I set my top part outside in the shade to get the temp and humidity reading and go online or look on the local weather channel and see what the temp & Humidity is in the area and compare the two. That way I can make adjustments if needed. Personally I prefer a...

I’m confused, What makes a “Jumbo” Coturnix Quail?

I have brown Coturnix Quail. Is there a difference between the Jumbo and Brown Coturnix Quail? Mine get pretty large but not as big as some of the pictures I’ve seen. Is there a difference even though they look the same? I also have the Italian Coturnix Quail. The guy I bought them from said...

BARRED & WHITE PLYMOUTH ROCK BANTAM EGGS

Barred Rock Bantams are the best of the best in my views! I'm glad to see you selling eggs. I have a nice flock of these and they lay the best tasting eggs of all my chickens. Good luck!

KEFIR - who makes it, drinks it, and/or feeds it to their chickens?

Be careful what you talk about on BYC, one thing they will kick you off for is talking about Kefir or being a Christian! Read the rules!

Kefir (sp) What is it? Anyone have a recipe?

I noticed Kefir still on here. I feed my chickens Milk Kefir whey everyday if I have it and they are much healthier. They come a running when I have a glass of yummy Kefir whey, I'm become their best friend! I got new grains from TheKefirMan.com and they are great.

    Barred Plymouth Rock Bantams

Hi Nate88, If you lived near me I'd be glad to let you have as many as you wanted. I got a yard full. I sold about 20 hens this year and was begging people to take all the roosters for free. I cleaned about 10 or 12 and put them in the freezer. Fat little boogers they are! I live in East Texas...

Help! Bad eggs or bad or bad owner, or both?

Hi Sid, I'm in Quitman and there is a couple of different guys in Gilmer that sell lots of different Healthy Quail really cheap. Like $1 to $2 each depending on size. Look on Craigs List once in a while, they sell them there. And they usually have several hundred of them for sale. And the price...

    Bantam Cornish, anyone?

I'm in the east Texas area, and I love Cornish Bantams. Good to eat but don't lay many eggs. White eggs and they are have really good taste to them.

    Pregnant goats. First timers.

Hi everybody, I have two pretty pigmy goats that I'm sure they are pregnant. Or I think they are. There names are Cutie Pie & Daisy. I'm worried about Daisy because she is carrying her baby or babies very low. Instead of growing out she is growing down. Is this a problem I should be worried...

    Barred Plymouth Rock Bantams

I've had trouble raising my Barred Rock Bantam chicks also. I water them with an I dropper with sugar water and electrolytes for a few days. Now that they are grown they are doing well. I have about a dozen or more hens and lots of roosters. But My wife and I love our Barred Bantams.
