How long overdue should you let eggs go under hen

Ok, here's an update. The chicken eggs were not fertile. No I didn't candle them early on or anything, we never had before and never had issues getting chicks, so I didn't think I needed to this time. But, my cousin thought it would be fun to put two duck eggs in the clutch. She wanted to...

How long overdue should you let eggs go under hen

We have raised several clutches with our hens. We have to get fertilized eggs from a family member with a rooster, so not 100% on fertility. It's day 24 and I'm curious if cooler template outdoors would cause slower development or later hatch. I know in incubation temp is important, and that...

Comprehensive list of poisonous plants and trees

My flock has hung out under the trees a lot since we are going through this drought! They have cleaned up an area pretty well, but they leave the poison ivy and some other on this list. Wish it wasn't poisonous to them, and they could eat it!

New to raising, have a chicken that seems to be blind. Need advice.

Thank you. She isn't a great deal smaller. She's learned to eat when the others are out of the run for the day. She tries to scratch the ground but her depth perception is so off. Thanks for your help. I hope it's just something like a birth defect, so i don't have to worry about it spreading.

New to raising chickens. Have a question about possible blind hen.

Thank you. I only wondered because the color in her eyes has seemed to brighten up a little since we first discovered it. Thanks for your help. It made me feel better.

So you think just general blindness? That would be great. Do you know if there is anything I need to look for in my other hens if it were caused by disease?

Hello! I have a flock of 16. We have 4 Rhode Island Reds, 3 New Hampshire Reds, 3 Plymouth Rock, 3 Austrolorps, and 3 Leghorns. They are just over 10 weeks old. I raised 50 day old chicks. My aunt and cousin each have some of the other 50. We split them at about 7 weeks. I'm excited to talk...
