Anyone know why some of the shells are smooth and some are bumpy? All chickens eat the same food. Thanks

Thank you for your answers. We heard yesterday from a person who used to have chickens that every so often she would lose a couple due to the heat. And its been hot! And then there were 3.........chickens left.

We feed them crumbler from the feed company, oyster shells and kitchen scraps and for a year they were healthy and produced well.

    Dead Chicken

    Eggs

    Eggs

Finally our new chickens produced an egg and 1/2 but they are soft and have no hard shell. Feed is standard from a bag with goodies given every day. Is this normal? Do they harden up? They look weird.
