    BATERY OPERATD COOP MONITOR.

I am looking for a battery powered sound monitor for a coop. All the baby monitors we can find are plug in or are rechargeable but only have 15 hours or less charge time. Our dog barks when critters come in the yard but he does it for anything including deer. I want to hear when the chickens get...

They are EE then my bad spelling got me again. The Ameraucana are good looking birds with all the different colors and the temperament is more mellow than the comets. I'll check out the article.

Grey chick unknown breed from our co-op

When we got the old layers I got the comets and my wife wanted some americanas. We have lost 2 of the 3 but we still have one. We hatched out chicks last year Comets and comet/ americana. We had 3 birds we hoped to be pullets but they are roosters.

Grey chick unknown breed from our co-op

I will try today to get a better pic. They just run into the coop when I tried to get a better shot. They still don't even eat greens, the other coop of comets fight over greens.

Grey chick unknown breed from our co-op

We got our new flock at our co-op this spring, 6 barred rock pullets and 3 Americana's. 2 days after they were home my wife said we had 7 barred rocks but one is just flat grey. We added 6 more barred rock when Tractor supply had them for a $1.00 . But now as they get older we wonder what the...

    Chicks just arrived!!!!

I use a 2 liter soda bottle with a nipple on it. I try it out first to make sure it is fine then I take one or two chicks and show them and it is game on. I also leave it low for a day or two so when they go under it they get water, they learn quickly. I also add Apple cider vinegar with the...

Any one chicken wire in a broody hen?

Well I did end up chicken wiring her in. The other coop has golden comets and they are nasty to outsiders. She took to it well. Now she has 7 chicks we gave her from the incubator and she took them all, even one that came two days late. Plenty of food for mom and chicks but I did end up taking...

Any one chicken wire in a broody hen?

I have 20 eggs at day 6 of 21 in an incubator. Almost all the eggs are golden comet with a couple Americana eggs fertilized by the comet rooster. I have a coop of only buff orps and the coop has a rear egg door 3 feet wide and just longer than a standard laying box. I had put in roll away...
