    Thought on my coop and nesting boxes. Are my nesting boxes gonna work or are opening to small with the overhang?

    I will have to measure the opening. But they r standard milk crates and the are only a foot off the floor. I'm thinking we r about 2 weeks from eggs. So just trying to prepared.

    Don't they need a certain amount of light day for laying eggs? With the short days in the winter was just wondering I guess.

    What the best way to keep your coop warm? My coop is 8 x 6 foot 6 foot high insulated. I live in Northern Minnesota so winters get -30 to -50 hear in Embarrass. Also have heard red colored light work good for lighting. Thanks

    Weasels getting to metal tub

    I'm putting out a few weasel boxes to trap them as well. Thank you all for input. Wish me luck, new to this whole raising chickens deal. 😁

    Weasels getting to metal tub

    I'm gonna raise my baby chicks in a metal tub 2 ft H x 2 ft W x 4 ft long. It will be in a pole barn but weasels can get in the barn. Has anyone ever had a weasel climb up the side? I'm gonna be putting a wire mesh top on it but hoping it won't interfere with the warming light.
