Life span of my Cornish X

I have the SAME problem. Got 4 Cobbs, not knowing they're meat industry birds. Mine are only 7 weeks but are pretty big already and I'm struggling with deciding if I should put them out if their misery before they start to suffer or what. I have no interest in eating them and thouht maybe i...

    Silkie thread!

I suspected the same thing. Their heads and beaks look nothing like the silkie babies I'm seeing in online photos. I got them from tractor supply and they were labeled as bantam silkies.

    Silkie thread!

My silkie babies look much less fluffier than everyone else's. They're about 4 weeks old. If I guessed right by looking at wing feathers (guessed right with the 4 Cobb's), the black one is a boy and the other 2 are girls?

    Cobb's?

I'm trying to figure out the exact breed of my 4 oldest chickens. My kids grandparents got them chicks for Easter from a local Mennonite farm. They say they're Cobb. We have no interest in using them for meat, so trying to take the best care of them to prolong their life.

My little chick is sick and I don't know why!

We just lost one from that. It was my 5 year olds favorite.. Only 3/4 weeks old. She was fine... Then all of a sudden got weak and started falling over, just standing chirping, couldn't walk steady. The poop was very hard and enormous. We soaked her for days and days, no sooner did we get her...

Any such things as Chicken Toys?

Gahh stupid button Frozen watermelon to let them peck at, but mine are picky.. Thy won't eat fruit or veggies as snacks. They only want meal worms aside from their feed and grit. When they hear the bag shake, they try to fly up and snatch it. I wonder if those Kong balls for dogs would work...

Any such things as Chicken Toys?

I'd like to know too... Mine play with anything that I put in.. Like food and water bowls. They try to drink water from a watering can sprinkler, pluck all the dandelions out of the ground and run around with them and steal it off of each other. I've heard of people tying fruit and vegetables...
