    Should I help this egg?

Thanks for all the replies! I took the egg out of the incubator and applied some coconut oil to the dry membrane. Then I peeled off pieces of shell with my fingers to finish the zip for Chicky, putting on more coconut oil as I went. Lastly I used tweezers to open a thin line along the zip and...

Official BYC Poll: Excess eggs, what do you do with them?

How do you sell them as hatching eggs? Do you ship them in the mail? Is there a place you can sell them online? I've never done it before, but I'd like to. :D

    Should I help this egg?

Thanks! But how should I do this? I've never helped a chick hatch before. 😬 Do I use tweezers or my fingers?

    Should I help this egg?

Hey y'all, So this is my second hatching with a Janoel incubator. There are 6 eggs, each with a name written on them in pencil. On Friday morning, day 22, we found that Squidney (my little sister named him) had hatched overnight. T aq,,fz Vv (Squidney typed that, so I just had to keep it...

2 day old chick keeps falling

I posted this on my thread about incubating eggs, but didn't know if anyone was still watching that thread. I recently hatched 3 chicks in an incubator. The last chick that hatched keeps falling backwards and can't get up. I thought it was curled toes and made little splints for her out of band...

    Anxious, help!

Idk if anyone's still watching this thread, but I need some help. I ended up with 3 out 5 eggs hatching, which I'm happy with. BUT the last chick that hatched keeps falling over backwards and can't get up. I thought it was curled toes and made little splints for her out of band aids, but it...

    May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

When I incubated eggs I saw veins on day 7, then the egg was really dark on day 14 because the chicks took up all the space. That might be why you don't see veins anymore.

    Anxious, help!

Woke up and both chicks were fluffy. They have been moved to the brooder. :clap Hoping for some more, but only one egg out of the three left have pipped. I guess it's only day 22 though, so those other two still have some time.

    Anxious, help!

I think you might be right. It came off by itself awhile ago and the chick is starting to fluff up. :D

Okay, 2nd hatch. This one didn't go as smoothly bc Zipper knocked the egg top-down, then zip-up again before it hatched. Beautiful coloring in this one, she has a combo of gray (or brown?) and gold feathers. Although it looks like the yolk is stuck to her butt. This wasn't true for Zipper . ...

    Moving chicks to coop

We usually set up a pet play gate (that we use for our bunny) in the grass and sit inside with the chicks.
