Infected wounds, possible tumor, impacted/sour crop... does she have a fighting chance?

I am sad to report that the chicken has passed away. She is no longer in pain, and I’m glad for that. I did my best, but it’s alright. She’s in a better place now!

Infected wounds, possible tumor, impacted/sour crop... does she have a fighting chance?

I went to bed without doing anything to her crop and went out to check up on her this morning... still going pretty strong! It still feels like it has a hard spot about the size of a baseball in it, but it looks like it's thankfully softening. Still drinking water on her own, though it looks...

Infected wounds, possible tumor, impacted/sour crop... does she have a fighting chance?

Thank you everyone for your concern! I've applied antibiotic ointment to both of the skin wounds and checked her crop again-- it's continuing to soften, which I'm very happy about. Should I try to force everything up (I know there's probably a more scientific term, but I've read that if a vet...

Infected wounds, possible tumor, impacted/sour crop... does she have a fighting chance?

She's already been moved to a separate cage, so at least I've done one thing right, lol! I already was intending to treat her wounds, but they've actually scabbed over and there's not too much to clean. I'm afraid I've been a bad chicken mama and just flat out didn't notice as the wounds...

Infected wounds, possible tumor, impacted/sour crop... does she have a fighting chance?

WARNING: Unsettling/gory images! Recently I went outside and discovered that one of my chickens was holding her neck strangely. She was doing typical chicken things with the rest of the flock-- scratching in the dirt, pecking, etc. But when I picked her up I realized she was holding her neck...

    Coturnix Quail Foot Fungus?

Okay, thank you very much, TwoCrows! I'm going to do that when I get home tomorrow. I did look up bumblefoot as one of the first things, but none of the pictures looked close to her foot.

    The Perfect Chicken?

Sour, I mainly want them as pets and to show them. The eggs are nice too, though I don't frequently eat them. Honey, what are Easter Eggers like? They sound like they lay pretty eggs <3

    The Perfect Chicken?

Hi! I'm new to this site, and although I already own quail, I am getting ready to start a chicken flock as well. What kind would you lovely people recommend? I'm hoping for a very friendly breed that is relatively low maintenance. I've only had once experience with chickens- once had a Rhode...

    Coturnix Quail Foot Fungus?

So I recently noticed one of my female quail walking funny, and not drinking and eating as often as she should. So I took a look at her and found the strangest thing ever. It looks like some sort of fungus that has been crusted over by poop or some other substance. I can see dark blood on her...
