I have been letting my chickens out every day for the last week our so to free range during the day. I noticed one of my hens missing. I got to looking for her and found her in the sheltered end of the run on their coop. She is sitting on about 20 eggs. I did not want any more of them but it...
Mine love chicken also peanuts. They will chase me around the yard if i have a jar of peanuts in my hand. It's kinda weird to see them eating chicken but they love it.
Yep our soil is pretty sandy. You could build them with out the legs too and just wire them together. Once you get at least one corner together the rest will support of of that.
I just got done building our fence to keep our flock out of our garden. I made mine out of 1"round tubing that i welded to make 8'long panels that are 3'tall with 2'legs on the bottom that i can drive in the ground. It works great and with the 8'panels i can move it and change it around when needed.
I had 2 gold fish ponds for years. Well up till my girls got old enough to stay in the ponds then i cut the liners out. My fish keep the sketters down. The ponds were very self sustaining. I did have to remove the plants once and a while to repot them.
It will stay warm untill the plant matter has decomposed. Mine has stayed warm for weeks at a time. Mother nature will take care of it. And unless you are planting root type veggies you really dont have a lot to worry about.
A good compost pile will sometimes reach temps of 160 degrees on their own. You just need to mix the right amount of decomposing matter in it and keep it turned once in a while.
