    Keeping Temminck's tragopans in trios

Does anyone have any experience keeping Temminck's tragopans in trio? Was pondering adding extra hens to my pairs.

You are correct, I am in Alberta. Shipping is always an option. There are several breeders in Ontario. I can try to get you in contact with some if you'd like.

    Temp ranges for peafowl

I also don’t keep any greens or high percentage Spalding. I do have one mid level Spalding hen and she does well with my set up.

    Temp ranges for peafowl

I house my Peafowl in a large calving barn for the winter with 4 different pens inside it. The barn is not heat, but is insulated. I can house somewhere around 120 birds in it. The birds produce a lot of heat. On the warm days I turn on the fan to deal with the dust and humidity. When it’s...

    Too cold for our peafowls?

I’m in Alberta. I’d like to add one thing to the comments above. Make sure your roosts are installed with the wide part facing up. This allows the birds to sit on their toes keeping them warm. Lots of people know this but thought I’d mention just incase. It seems like frozen toes happen...

Curved middle toes on emu chick

I was reading back at my post and I did say they got slightly worse before they got better. I wish I could remember exactly when they started to straighten. His egg was smaller than my other two chicks eggs. Sorry I’m not more helpful.

Curved middle toes on emu chick

Mine got better with time. Now he’s almost two and they are perfect. I kept massaging them and gave him lots of vitamin b-12. It does seem concerning that yours is getting worse though.

    Determining pied

Thank you. I don’t have enough pens to test breed them to white so I will have to sell them. I keep records of what every pen has in them and what chicks come out of what pen. I just wasn’t sure if they were pied or split to something. I did have cameo pied in that pen and was told my...

    Determining pied

This is an old picture from last year, but the cameo in front left side eating out of the feeder is an example of how they look.

    Determining pied

What qualifies as pied? I have a few birds that have white flights and throat latches, but they also have a small amount of white on the lower shoulders, above the flight feathers. Would these be considered pied?

    Question for the peafowl experts

Is it possible for the pied hen to produce split white chicks too?

How much for a white peachick?

This guy is split white. As you can see he just has a couple white flight feathers. In my experience the amount of white flight feathers will vary from bird to bird.
