We did have some roosters but they were not ideal for siring young. We are talking about getting fertile eggs or just getting chicks we know are female. I personally rather do the chick route but that may be hard given the current situation of things.

We have had our gals for around 3 years, and are all happy and laying good eggs.
We do want to get more chicks this year to have us have a sort of genoration thing going, alas with everything we might just wait to give some chickens a good home later in the year.
Its been recommended but making sure the chickens know a sound to come rushing to you is important, for my family we just shake the bag of treats and they come running. We even have them know handclaps mean go back to the coop and run, which is important when we hear or spot hawks.
