Another update lol. Inside mouth photo, and updated poop pics. Her droppings are very watery / mucousy but maybe because I gave her some oil for crop impaction?
I have her started on Corid. Working on ordering the dewormer now. She's perked up a bit but still sitting sort of "fluffed up".
She hasn't laid but has drank lots of water. Poop looks the same. She almost seems to be struggling to poop, she grunted when I was in with her.
Also gave her some...
Mostly empty, yes. Seems she's not really wanting to eat or drink though. The crop was very small yesterday after a day of free ranging in comparison to normal. I have Corid on hand. Can I do both deworming and Corid simultaneously? And assuming I should treat the rest of the flock as well to be...
Thanks so much!
I was massaging her crop a bit in the video. I did have a look inside her mouth, nothing unusual there but now that you say white, it may have been a bit more pale inside than typical. I will definitely checkout the droppings in the morning. They looked fine tonight, but still...
No antibiotics yet. She is in the middle of a molt, almost out of it I believe. She's separated out in my spare bathroom for now so I can monitor her. She does free range, but less so lately. The hawks come out like crazy this time of year but they do have a large run.
Hi!
My girl nugget here, isn't feeling so hot. She's been sort of "slow" for the last 2 weeks or so. She's about 3 years old, and a RIR - so I know lifespan may be shorter. Fairly pale comb. Still eating, excited for treats, etc. But when she's not eating she's off with the crew just...
Yes I did try gently pulling. I was afraid I was going to hurt her, it looks rough. She is acting fine though, surprisingly!
Thanks! That's definitely helpful. :)
Hi,
came out to the coop to find this. She's about 3 years old - looks to be a prolapse due to lash egg. The internals are actually stuck inside the lash egg. I tried to gently remove the lash egg to put the prolapse back in, but it's stuck around her insides. Afraid to cut into egg to release...
oh yeah, we've had 20+ Go broody over the course of 2 years. We do have lots of experience with broody girls. This one has been making those noises for over a week. She doesn't have a nest anywhere, is still laying. She only makes those noises when the rooster is around. She doesn't make them...
She's doing okay! I keep her in a crate at night with a very small roost bar so she can't jump around etc. Shes walking much better, so not bumblefoot, thankfully. I think the little bit of rest is doing her good.
I hope your duck feels better!!
Shes not broody, but I had thought that as well because she does make a lot of broody noises. She doesn't sit or hang in the coop at all. She's only in there to sleep. I wish that were it though. We currently have 3 other broody girls.
My roo is 2, and has always been a good boy but seems to be...
Thank you!
I have her crated at night and she does free range during the day. She's still very active and eating / drinking normally. Should I keep her crated all the time?
I actually posted a follow up to this regarding my rooster and her. He's a sebright so small, and she's a black sex link -...
