I’ll definitely give it a try. Like I said, the backing up thing has been on and off her whole life. Not consistent, once in a while, and then sometimes a few times during a two or three week period. The walking to the right just started last night I’ll definitely start her on the vitamin E and...
I have a young adult Silkie hen who started out runty but has grown into a nice bird. Just yesterday I noticed she was mainly turning to the right to move around outside, walking in big curves to that side.
she eats, drinks, vocalizes and browses the yard completely normal. The only thing she...
My silkie pullet had a moderate case of sour crop. She is doing VERY well now, and has a ravenous appetite again.
I have been doing the scrambled eggs, yogurt, a bit of olive oil, and apple cider vinegar water. Any advice on how to leave food out for her when I’m gone, as I go back to work...
My Silkie pullet had a moderate case of sour crop. She’s doing MUCH better, and is now ravenous. I’m doing the acv water, scrambled eggs/yogurt, a bit of olive oil in moderate amounts.
So my question ...I go to work tomorrow, advice on leaving food out for her while I’m gone?
Yeah, I don’t think I’ll do the whole 30 days, and I’ve seen all of her pens and none of her birds are on the ground. All of my girls from her are healthy and beautiful, so I’m sure this new little girl will be as well. 😊
That’s kind of what I was thinking. Also, since she’s never been on the ground, is it ok to preemptively treat her with Corid to prevent Coccidia? My other girls were all treated last year.
I got my 4 silkie girls (the only chickens I have) from her last year. The girl I’m getting is from her as well, same age/size. My girls have not been exposed to any chickens other than hers before I brought them home. Same with the new girl. They are from the same place, and none of her...
I am getting a single silkie pullet from the same breeder my other girls are from. Same age/size, none have been exposed to any other chickens, and her birds are never on the ground before going to new homes.
Do I still need to do normal quarantine procedures with this girl?
They’ve been on Purina Flock Raiser since I got them. The breeder feeds it to all of her Silkies-from chicks to layers to roosters.
they get a little cracked corn most afternoons when it’s gonna be cold, and in the morning info I usually give them some warm mash or scrambled eggs. They get grit...
I have 4 silkie girls, 3 of the 4 have just recently started laying. Yay!
The other day I noticed 3 of the 4 had some softer pop, and some messy dried feathers that I trimmed a bit. behavior is normal.
mans indis go ahead and worms them, to follow up with 2nd dose in 2 wks.
I’ve never had messy...
yeah, we’re thinking girls except for maybe the smooth. 😕The others show mostly all girl signs....so far. Narrower combs, fluffy, very round head poofs, how they carry their bodies, etc. one can dream! 😊
oops, hit send before all the pics loaded.
This is Miss Sapphire and Miss Topaz. I’m hoping both are lovely Ladies. They are just shy of 8 months and 6 months, respectively. Any opinions? 😊
