    I have a very simialar area for my guys and it works out perfectly. We used one of the tarp carports for cover for the run, cheap and it works.

    They are so cute...wish I could have one but live in the city limits. Used to raise, and milk them for 4-H, growing-up in Ohio. They are so sweet at that age!

    I'm so happy...finally have a broody hen!!! 1 of my Barred Rocks and I gave her yesterdays eggs to go ahead and sit on, hopefully I'll have babies in 21 days. Fixed her a special nest up with her eggs and she has stayed on them for the last 24 hours. Keeping my fingers crossed! I love the...

    Here's what I did. It's a simple carport with chicken wire and we used wire ties to fasten the chicken wire on the sides. We made a PVC frame and door on the front, and put chicken wire on it too.

    Read another forum on BYC, the member had a great idea about using a paint gun. I live just on the outskirts of the city limit, and can't fire a gun in town. Great deterrent for hawks and so on that are protected, won't kill them, but it will make them think twice about coming back.

    Thanks so much, my husband and I put a lot of thought into it when we got our first babies last year...I can't believe they will be a year old already this next week.

    I have a portable carport for my run with 1" chicken wire up the sides and the tarp for it over the top to protect them from rain and flying predators.
