I thought about mites, but she is the only one. I would think that if it was mites, my other chickens would have issues. I did not know bread was bad, we usually just use bread to get them into the coop if we have to go somewhere, as we usually let them free range in our 1 acre yard all day...
Have one chicken that is losing feathers really bad. This has been happening for the last 5 months, just took these pictures yesterday. She seems fine, does not appear to be hurt. She does now sleep in the nests has she has no feathers to fly up to the roost. She is also still laying eggs...
My solution to the algae problem is make sure you use food safe buckets for your water.
I originally used a cheap bucket that was not food safe, and had algae after a week or so.
Then I tried a food safe bucket, after water sat in it for over a month there was still no algae.
I swapped the water...
I trained them where the water was, but they still are not drinking. I initially tried 4 days ago, then tried again today for 2 hours so far, and they just don't seem to be figuring it out. They walk by and peck at it once in a while. It just does not look like they are getting anything...
