Yea I didn't see saddle feathers or hanging tail feathers. This one's is the hardest for me to determine. The only sign I got was dark wing patch and 3 pea comb. From what the lady told me she was couple months away from laying. But I kinda felt she was a little bit younger due too some feathers...
Hi I picked up a youngster which was supposed to be pullets but it starting to look roo. And seeing if the experts on ameraucanas can identify if this is a true blue ameraucana. The wing patch and pea comb is looking pretty roo like.
yea I asked that feed store because I don't know how to sex the ameraucanas. I can do other breeds but ameraucanas I just have no experience with them as baby chicks but this is a great learning experience.
Oh really yea I got them from a feed store as ameraucanas. So they look like straight Easter eggers. Funny thing is the feed store said there both the same chicken different names. Yea I hoping for pullets but oh well I'll be checking out the other feed store near me.
Thanks for responding so fast. And that's where I got confused alot of ppl were talking about the three row comb and feathers can be taken by 2nd gen and 3rd gen with genetics so they can be very deceitful. I only wish a had pictures of these mixed genetics hens. But maybe I'll wait it out.
Hi new member got my first ameraucanas and all I can say is wow good luck sexing these chickens. So much info and confusion on how to determine. I got some people saying they will have rooster traits. So I'm lost on determining these guys. But there color and back feathers looks rooster for sure.
