I Dont have an incubater, but one of my hens (ms. White) has been sitting on them. I was'nt to worried until about 3 days later than i figured. I did open open one at 6 days and it was fully covered with feathers but dead.
I leave in autuaga county in marbury. That is possible but one of my hens is setting on the eggs. She went broody so i let her sit on them. Know i wish i had an incubater.
I had 7 eggs by my figuring should have hatched on the 21st and today i was curious so i candled one egg it looked full but it just looked full with no movement or any thing. To me it just didnt look rite, But I am new at this so I easly tapped one end of the egg open and out came a bad smell...
well tomorrow is the day one of my hens is expecting hopfully seven little chicks. But i do have one thing to ask, How long do they need to stay with there mom?
Thanks every one, So far every one has been very helpfull. But I do have 1 question about some new peeps thats on the way. She became broody around the 30th of may so i just let her be she has 7 eggs under her. My question is how long do i leave them with her after they hatch.

new to raising chickens and loving every minute of it. Ive always wanted chickens finaly went with it and got six hens and one roo. Ive had them for about a month now and there like pets they follow me about any where i go around the yard.
