    Building defeat..

It’s a flat roof. Not sure how old it is but that could definitely be the issue. I’m scared to get on the roof 😅 may need reinforcements to check that! Thank you

    Building defeat..

This is the outside. Inside appears to be completely dry now. No puddles or running water marks. No water puddles on the ground inside or outside. (There were no puddles inside yesterday during the rain)

    Building defeat..

It’s dark right now but these pictures are exactly what it looks like. Inside posts are what we put boards up on. The other picture is what the outside looks like, and how it faces in my yard. The left side (when you look at the picture) is where the wet spot was. There is no trees or anything...

    Building defeat..

It’s not wet or dripping above it. This is an inside wall, there is another wall behind it (the actual shed wall).

    Building defeat..

I have been working on converting a shed to a coop.. every time I’m excited to think about moving the chickens out, it’s something else.. It rained the other day and I found a leak. Fixed it. Today we had a decent rain storm and I went out to this.. 😭😭 it literally took me DAYS to build these...

    Heater for a coop

The brooder is pretty large. I have 2 warmers in it, 2 waterers, 2 feeders, and a small roosting bar. 21 growing chickens though.. it’s getting small quick! I see people move them outside in the first week with a heat source and be fine. I just wanted to give them the best chance by starting inside.

    Heater for a coop

Hey all! I have 3 week old and 2 week old chicks (21 in total). The brooder inside is getting cramped quick. I was looking at an infrared heater to mount in the coop until they are fully feathered. The lows will be in the 40’s starting next week. I am deciding between a heating plate mounted...

Top shed gap- how to predator proof it

I’m attempting to convert a metal shed on my property to a coop. We have put plywood on the inside walls, dug hard cloth wire into the bottom (it’s a dirt floor), and are building nesting boxes/roosts. HOWEVER— at the top is a gap between the roof and wall. No more than a 2-3 inch gap. Great...

    Limping chick- 6 days old

Purina chick starter (medicated). No treats yet. Cool side of brooder where food and water sits is about 77 and under warmer is 95-97. (The warming plate is close to the food/water. Bottom is pine shavings covered in puppy pads. Plan was to remove the puppy pads after a week or so to just the...

    Limping chick- 6 days old

I will not give up on chicken raising.. I will not give up on chicken raising… I got my first chicky babies last week. They are brooded inside for now. I got 5 Rhode Island reds and 5 barred rock. Within 48 hours, 2 of the Rhode Island’s died.. (heart break). Now one of the Rhode Island’s are...
