Cailey's_Chickens I set up an app with her vet yesterday, the only problem is that they aren't open on weekends and they scheduled her for Monday at 4:30 pm. They were completely booked today. I had a hunch last night and my sister and I opened her beak to look, I didn't see anything. She did...
KittyKat3756 The feed and treats do have whole dried corn in it, for the little ones I try to pick out the big pieces but maybe I missed one and that's what stuck?
KittyKat3756 If it's something she ate or that's stuck in her throat is there anyway to help her move it along so she turn's out okay? I feed all natural non-gmo feed. Just started everyone on it well over a week ago, I have older standard size hen's, pullets and the three little ones.
I have a picture I can post, taken just a few minutes ago. I don't see anything wound wise with her eye but she does now hold her head to the side that has the half closed eye. She continually holds her beak open like she can't breathe and she eats and drinks but it's with difficulty. She also...
Hello I need some advice on one of my bantam hens. Day before yesterday I let my bantam flock out of their coop to get some outside time. It wasn't very cold, but kind of windy and the sun was shining, needless to say I got busy doing other things and got them in kind of later than usual. By...
Walkie85 Looks like you have a lot of cockerels. :) Wait until they're 10+ weeks old because that's when you can see sickle feather's coming in. General rule is any comb and wattle development at this stage means boy. My little Golden Laced doesn't have the comb yours does but it looks like your...
Are you able to take her to a vet? If it is I would look into taking her immediately. If it's that worrisome please do anyway, better to be safe. I wish you and your girl the very best, good luck!
Eggstra31 Could be that she accidentally got the white "pee" part of poop on her face when she scratches her face. Where is it on her beak? I would gently wipe it off with a damp towel and watch her closely for the next few days, see if you can pinpoint what's causing it. Just definitely make...
Kal046 Could very well be, I'm not sure. Could even be Marans :) I'm not very familiar with the feather legged kind, sorry and wish I could help more with those. I do have several Delaware though some around the same age and they look exactly like yours, yellow legs with no feathers, light black...
My manners are terrible haha, welcome to BYC. With the Delaware I would also watch out for cockerels, their combs and wattles look very red and developing fast for that age. I didn't see the feathered feet on the red ones so I have no idea what you have with those guys. Beautiful birds!
Welcome to BYC! I'm no expert on sexing but it does look like a cockerel, with my hona's any comb development that early turned out to be a rooster. Their combs started pretty early. I'm not sure if it's the same as they're two separate breeds. I recently got 2 Wyandotte's, one SL and the other...
@Rachel Taylor Oh my gosh! Same! This little dude is fantastic as well, always calling his ladies over to eat and watches out for them and has never been mean, they've been here about a week now. I've named him Cogburn, hen 1 is A.L.F. and hen 2 is Shirly! Cogburn loves being held, A.L.F. is...
