Most recently, I received a batch a month ago in February and they all lived! I used cackle hatchery.com and I get my birds 2 days after they ship...

    I am also changing my coop. This is my first night and I'm tried night transitioning. Which is exactly what it sounds like. Once my chickens went to roost I opened the roof and carried them to the new coop. I hope this helps!

    I am a new chicken momma, so I do not have much experience. BUT I am using sand in my coop. It is SO easy. I do have a smaller coop up off the ground so that may sway your decision.
