    Chick help

They do have their own coop. Mom is getting aggressive with one of they and she's walking around singing the egg song. I think she's ready to leave them.

    Chick help

Are 4 week old chicks ok on their own at night? They were hatched by our broody hen, but she is starting to get aggressive with one of them. Can we put her back with the rest of the flock? Will the babies be warm enough?

    Baby Chicks

One of our hens went broody so we bought 12 fertilized eggs, we now have 8 chicks. They're 3-4 days old, mom is pretty protective. When is it ok to start handling the chicks?

    Hen hatched chicks

Hi. We let our broody hen hatch some eggs. So far so good, we've counted 6 so far. They started hatching about 24hrs ago. My question: if the mother poops in the "nest", should we clean it out. This would involve moving her and the chicks.

We've been getting eggs through most of the winter, but just this last couple of weeks there's been an increase and it looks like everybody is laying. Do you think it's bullying? We put the 'bully' on timeout so that the injured one could get some exercise and move around a bit. She's huddled up...

    Pecking order or bully?

All hens are approximately 1 year. Enclosed run is 8 x 12, coop is 5 x 6 with 3 boxes. We feed layer pellets and veggies. Pellets are in a hanging feeder, anything else is given on two trays. We haven't had any problems till this past weekend.

    Pecking order or bully?

We have 2 Silver Laced Wyandotte hens that have been fighting. We got them, full grown, together in late August of last year. We also have six other hens, no rooster. The 2 Wyandottes have always seemed to look out for each other and always stick together. The larger of the two seems to be at...

    Hello

We are relatively new to chickens. We got our flock in late August of last year. We have 8 hens, 4 different breeds, not 100% on their breed names. But we named them Taco and Nugget; Fajita and Quesadilla; Fingers, (3 brown ones we can't tell apart); and Wings. We are in Ontario, Canada. They...
