Buff Orpington's still not laying :-(

I only have 2 girls but hope to purchase a few ready to lay pullets this weekend. My choice seems to be Lohmann Brown, Blackrock or Buff Sussex - plan to get 2 or 3. My two girls seemed happier already this morning! No cockerel to chase them once they emerged from the coop! Feel guilty...

    Which breed to go for?

I have two buff Orpingtons and want to get 2 or 3 more pullets. Having phoned around my options seem to be Lohmann Brown, Buff Sussex or Blackrock. Has anyone any suggestions as to which I should go for?

Buff Orpington's still not laying :-(

Thanks very much for your reply, it was very helpful. I have now removed the two roosters so hopefully that will do the trick! I don't mind waiting but once you said that the roosters' presence may affect their laying I didn't hesitate in removing them. It was always the plan to only have one...

I'm attaching a photo that I took this morning. I have 2 hens and 2 roosters. Completely free ranged. Fed pellets and corn and occasionally household scraps.

My 3 buff Orpingtons are now 29 weeks and still no sign of an egg - is this normal?

I'd really appreciate some help in identifying the sex of my 4 Buff Orpingtons. They are 9 weeks old.
