    my auto correct being stupid>> marans sorry. my phone thinks that "a" and 's' are so close that they should be interchangeable with the majority of them being 's' or is that my fat fingers??? hmmm I will ponder that in the mean time its a pain!

    found a few copper marans eggs locally(like 3?) And some mosaic eggs (4?) And the rest of these are necked necks and brahma crosses. I am excited to see what happens especially because the rooster in with the brahmas is a necked neck with a little wellsummer genes!

    I forgot to add that we moved 14 duck eggs into lockdown last night we had started with 18(6 of them came back out of the refrigerator) so I am happy with this number. We did observe some shadowing going on so I am hopefull these babies will pop out on time!

    ours are very good at the fertilized eggs thing, and a couple hens have actually managed to hatch some for us, the rest of the year they are a glorified alarm system. anything goes on they start barking! they are so much fun. oh and great for the freezer too.

    if you put a Narragansett tom over a bronze hen then the boys will be bronze and the girls will be narragansett although this one might be harder to distinguish at hatch. but the chocolate one would be pretty straight forward!     it can be done with a chocolate tom over a bronze hen then all the boys will hatch barred black and the girls will be barred chocolates!

    the black one was out running around the bator this morn. The next little white one was stuck in its shell so I helped it out. I went to open the last 3 eggs and one spears to be moving still so we are still waiting on a final count. On s sad note I found one that had internally piped and died...

    came home to a little white marans out running around. 2 more external pips. Pulled out the legbar egg it quit on me. left 3 marans I was not sure about with the 2 that were pipedour little marans almost posed here beside its little friend
