    Changing Waters

I'm trying to get my chickens to use the nipple waterer, they are between 1 and 4 years old. I've had the nipple waterer in the coop for a couple of weeks and it does not look like anyone has used it as I marked the water level. Has anyone tried putting something on the nipple (i.e. food) to...

    Roost placement

Hi, this is for Hi BigBlueHen53, could you send me a picture of your 2x4 laid flat perch. I have tried to wait and see if my hen would go in at night but she still sleeps in the door entrance, with winter coming I thought I'd try the 2x4 laid flat perch.

Also reading back on some of the responses, the measurements I gave you were for the roost (where they sleep at night) not the coop.

If I had a 2x4 laid flat how high would you recommend from the bottom of the roost area so that they could jump up or would you have the 2x4 laid flat...

    Roost placement

We have one aggressive hen that she spars with, but they get along well enough. She sits on the sill of the door itself; she does not sit on the little perch by the pop door. In the late afternoon she looks in trying to figure out how to get on the perch but just can't seem to get it done.

Should I add additional roosts??, I currently have 3 hens, 2 sit on the roost...
