    No...that is her head feathers... I am thinking she is a coastal quail....I believe it is a subspecies of the California. One of the links I put on earlier has a link to a photo we have been looking at...she looks like a lot of other birds.....except for that topknot!

    I have another odd question. Since she is growing up and no interest in other birds when we take her outside.....will she be alright alone? With no other bird company....she spends a lot of her day on people's shoulders but is that enough.
