    Thanks for the replies. I will call the feed store in the morning to make sure it isn't supposed to smell that way. i've gotten bags of feed from them before and never had any smell like this. I would rather be safe than sorry. And for the price of the bags these days, I want to get my...

    Can I switch?

    Go ahead and switch over. I would. Leghorns do start laying sooner than others so it would be ok for them and 18 weeks is the approx laying age for most chickens. Won't hurt em.

    Feed smells... like beer.

    Got more chick starter today and both bags smell like beer. inside and out. Can I still give it to my chickens? Not gonna lie, i've already given my 44 - 2 month olds a big scoop of it because they were out. Thanks for any help.
