I have these two Royal Palm Heritage Turkeys, I thought they were both boys since they both fan out if I play turkey sounds and have semi-long snoods, but recently one has gotten a lot more red/blue on its head and is gobbling a lot, as well as displaying more when I play sounds from my phone...
It's only two birds, just different angles 😊 one black one blue. they both have upwards turned neck feathers so I was pretty sure they were. Just wanted to make sure before I rehomed them, gotta get them out of my coop cause my roo is a sizzle and I don't wanna risk a frazzle! Your babies are so...
I'm usually only used to seeing satin feathered frizzle Silkies, with the super obvious rosette feathers that curl up dramatically. But I'm thinking these girls are also frizzle, just silkie feathered. My other Silkies have feathers that point downward. Am I right in thinking these are sizzle girls?
That's a girl for sure! By that age, actially even earlier at 3 months, all of my silkie roos had obvious streamers and huge combs. I'd say that's a lady 😊
Thank you! They all came from gorgeous dark eggs too so I was really hoping for some girls, since I'm not keeping any of these boys myself 😂 I'll try again after I find homes for all these bachelors I have on my hands 🤦♀️
Sorry for some pictures being not great, was racing the sun setting so I don't expect 100% confident answers. Just want opinions on what you guys think. Does big wattle/comb mean anything or is color the best tell tale for BCMS?
I know BCMs can be a bit tricky when sexing, since you can't...
Four chicks, 5 weeks old, I'm thinking 3 cockerels and one pullet just due to comb color but hoping for 2:2 ratio at least so fingers crossed on chick 3, but not hopeful. Pictures of dad and moms included, dad is a Rose Comb Porcelain Frizzle D'uccle, moms are D'uccle OEGH Crosses (I believe)...
Currently 6 weeks old. Hatched out from eggs sold as "Silkie eggs, chance of Frizzle" but definitely not a silkie. Silkie cross with Cochin is my bet if anything. But has a very red comb and wattle development already. Gotta be a Roo, right? I know cochins can be tough.
She already has 2 hens! And a huge coop ready for them. She just didn't want to risk getting chicks again. My step-dad surprised her with 6, one turned out to be a rooster, 3 were guinea hens 😂 he didn't know what he was getting.
I'm giving her these girls, an ancona, and 2 favorelles. No...
Last one for today. Bought as straight run. Leaning towards #2 being cockerel just due to the darker and longer tail, but thinking both might be. What do you guys think?

Bought these two as pullets, but just want to confirm. Can't always trust the feed stores. Trying to raise some rainbow Eggers for my mom and don't wanna risk giving her any cockerels. Thanks in advance!
