Chicks with thick mucus in egg?

Thanks for your insight! Yeah when they pipped at day 19 I was a little worried. I turned them less than 12 hours prior for the last time.....

Chicks with thick mucus in egg?

Well good news after all! I have 16 chicks hatched and 2 more pipped. That just leaves 3 unhatched at the moment. So I guess the hatch just had a rough start 🤷‍♀️

Chicks with thick mucus in egg?

Here's a picture. Yes, high humidity was my best guess. I don't have a hygrometer just because I always do the same thing and never have had problems like this. Thanks for your insight!

Chicks with thick mucus in egg?

    What breed is this gentleman?

The only reason I don't think he could be a sapphire gem is because he has muffs.

Newly broody Turkey and almost to lockdown eggs.

Personally I would think that's not long enough after becoming broody.

Where did you get him? Probably an Easter egger if it's from a feed store.

Chick Randomly died while zipping--what happened?!

I had a chick die during zipping recently as well. My best guesses are it hit a vein that for some reason hadn't receded yet and bled out, it overexerted itself, or it was in a bad position and twisted its neck too much or something. It could have been that the air cell was saddled or somehow...
