    Why no worms?

I concur with Covidtime Quail, it took longer than I thought it would for a nice supply of worms, and then I had hundreds. I had worms just about until the first snowfall, then they really tapered off. Now that spring has sprung, I expect to start the process again as I have noticed several...

    Red Egg with Rubber shell.

The video you provided was exceptionally informative - Thank you for posting it. I believe it was an intact follicle based on the information provided. I had already disposed of the items in question. Excellent response to my question.

    Red Egg with Rubber shell.

I have six chickens, five different breeds. The are fed commercial feed, have lots of water, and free run in the backyard. I found this egg in the nesting box about 6pm. It appears the "egg" is red in color with a black dot. The "egg" was outside of the rubber shell. Looking for ideas and...

    Why no worms?

I purchased 2000 meal worms and placed them in wheat bran with potatoes, carrots, celery, etc. That was about six months ago. I now have over 500 darkling beetles that have been in the aquarium for about three months - not a single worm has appeared. Suggestions on what I am doing wrong, or can...

Which breeds have you had good egg production from?

Our Leghorn, obviously named "Foghorn" is a lover. Has not started with the eggs yet, but sure enjoys the human "touch" and the goodies.

Here are two additional photographs. The first is the same chick. The second chick, or the darker one, is from the same batch. Hope this helps.

Will go and try to get a better photograph. Thanks. My wife says she is supposed to lay blue or green eggs.

    New Chick ID

The one on the left is a leghorn, and the chick on the right is a buff orpington (sp?), but I would like to know the breed of the gal in the middle. About two weeks old. Enjoying them, just waiting for them to grow up so I can try out the new coop.

    Greetings

Hi folks, I used to be a member here, but lost the credentials. Still interested in having some chickens, but need information regarding coops, and many other subjects. I used to raise mealworms, would like to try that again. Hope to learn from here, as I once was able to do. May...
