    prolapsed anus in rooster?

I found my rooster, Nugget, like this last night. Beware- Graphic pic. Is this a prolapsed anus? This seems way worse than any pics I have seen elsewhere. He has slowed down a bit and seems to have diarrhea and this mess hanging out of him. I soaked him, cleaned him up, removed a few...

    Oral treatment for mites

Does anyone have a suggestion for something I can put in my chickens water to help with mites? We are beyond garlic or other natural remedies and I have too many chickens to treat one by one. I will be cleaning the coop, spraying, and placing down new bedding but I need a very quick fix and...

how is your hen doing? We are in same position ... leg just kind of dangles and she doesn't want to put any weight on it and can't walk at all but I don't feel a break. She has been isolated for a week and I am not noticing any progress but she does eat and drink. Would love to know how your...

Gave broody mama three old day babies and now she won't get off them to teach them to eat/drink....

And two days later she is doing what she should but she accidentally stepped on one and killed it. Fingers crossed the other one hangs in there.

Gave broody mama three old day babies and now she won't get off them to teach them to eat/drink....

a local person with an excess of chicks. I tried not to touch them too much.... they were hatched by a mama and not an incubator so they are familiar with what mama should do.

I just went out and put a plate of food and bowl of water very nearby. One of them came out from under her and walked around so I am hopeful!

Gave broody mama three old day babies and now she won't get off them to teach them to eat/drink....

I have a mama that has been broody for a full month and didn't actually hatch any eggs. I gave her two, three day old babies yesterday. I read conflicting info on whether or not to do it in the day or night but my fear was if I did it at night that she may end up rejecting them and they would...

    Duck egg hatching issue

I know this is a chicken site but I’m hoping some of you have experience with ducks. I hatched several eggs from my incubator this week and two of them hatched right on time on day 28. There was one egg I still thought potentially viable and I gave it an extra two days in the incubator putting...

    Helping new adult turkey acclimate

So I found a hen on Craig's List but from a different location - what if she isn't the hen he is used to? Probably better than not having a hen.

    Helping new adult turkey acclimate

Hi - my first post here. I bought an adult tom Bourbon Red Turkey off of Craig's List last weekend and he is beautiful. We wanted to add a turkey to the farm but I didn't want to go through the chick phase. I put him in a pen by himself to acclimate and for the last two days he has madly...
