Sad update! Trudy passed sometime over night last night. She made it way longer than I ever thought she would’ve with how severe the wound was. :(

Here is an updated photo of The hen who was injured. This is after 4 days of penicillin injections and Vetericyn spray gel application 3 times a day.

She doesn’t seem to want to eat and drink much but given the severity of her injuries I’m Just amazed that she was able to free range with the flock this evening. I will get some pictures tomorrow of how she is healing. It’s gnarly looking but definitely getting better.

Just a quick update. She has survived the weekend! Her wound still looks awful but she is upright and walked around with the flock for a little while today. I’m honestly stunned that she is still alive and trying not to get my hopes up but it does appear to be healing some.

Now he knows he can catch them so we’ve been shocking him if necessary when he gets “on point” with them. I...

I have offered food and water but I’m not sure if she is eating. I am currently keeping her in the garage and can...

One of the girls flew the coop fence and our goldendoodle got ahold of her. I just knew she would die but she has a strong will to live so I am giving her a fighting chance. Here is what I have done so far: -Cleansed wound with warm water and chlorhexadine solution. -applied Vetericyn gel...
