    Use chicken wire around the bottom part of the premiere 1...worked for our chicks from age around 6 weeks and up

    We used chicken wiring on the lower half of our premiere 1 netting for our 54 chickens, that we had to zip tie to the wire netting!! Lol...they are almost 8 weeks old now...they have been in the fencing for about 4 weeks with little issues of escape.

    Sick hen?

    Our hen is 4.5 years old. She is acting lethargic, has a floppy discolored comb, and seems to be hunched up. She is eating and drinking a little. She no longer lays. Any ideas? Thanks

    I am not sure if my hen is sick or molting? I noticed she was not moving as much as normal and not making any noise yesterday. She was just standing there. She is eating and drinking. She has pooped, but it is watery..kind of milky looking with green poop in it. I have dealt with egghound hens...

    Are these wood chips any good for run bedding?

    I ordered from "Chip Drop" a couple days ago. Have not received our load yet....I have heard good things. They ask for donation of $20, but it's not mandatory. You could get a full truck load! Perfect for our run!

    Found Hen Dead in coop:(

    We found our Luna girl (not even 2 years old) dead in her coop yesterday morning at 8 am. I went out to open their door around 4:45 am....we have a camera in there and I could not make out what happened. What do you all think? She had no signs of injury from the other hens and no signs of broken...

    Wood Chips for run

    Has anyone ever used Chip Drop to get wood chips for their run? I am thinking about using them and need opinions. My run is a muddy mess when it rains....gross to go out and be with the ladies like that. Do you all recommend wood chips? If so, what kind of wood is best? Thanks :)
