    Coach, I think you hit on it, but not while roosting. I've noticed my girls and sometimes other roos gathering around a hen being mated and peck at the rooster doing the deed. I betcha thats it!

    Alabama is 8 months old I'm not sure his breed, he was sold to us as a chocolate sex link pullet. Obviously he isnt. He is white. He acts perfectly normal except he has black spots on his comb.     Bought them as chicks, was told they were Polish crested but they sure look like Sultans to me. Any idea what sex they are, 9+ weeks old in the picture. Thanks :-)

    We adopted these 2 sweeties with the assumption they were Polish but I'm pretty sure they are Sultans. They are 9 weeks old. Is it too early to tell if they are hens or roosters?
