The babies have somewhat sex-determined head patterns it seems. I've had great success in giving people the sexes they want in chicks. If the pattern at the back of the head is circular, like a bull's eye, they are usually male. If they are very squiggly and irregular, female. The spotty/peppery...
Original male I had was a dominant white easter egger named Sunshine whom I had for years (2000-2006). He carried BBR as far as I can tell from the other offspring I got. He had one offspring with gorgeous honey coloration on the shoulders, back and lower wing...looked like a yellow golden...
I used an outcross with SQ black Ameraucana in 2005 but fortunately this one is quite easy to deal with for comb (even though it looks bad here!). I got a lot of nicely combed chicks from the hatch this year but they are in MD and I am in NY at the moment.
Theres a lot of things wrong with...
2 Free blackshoulder peafowl eggs. They are probably fertile, as all the eggs I have gotten prior to this are. I am going on vacation, however, for 2 weeks soon and will not be here to hand turn them. They don't do well in a vertical turner so I can't really put them in my large incubator...
Male 08' hatch blackshoulder peacock $50.00
6 4 week old mandarin ducks, starting to feather out $15.00 each
1 pair adult mandarins (male in eclipse) $50.00
1 extra adult male $25.00
Need to move the male peacock in particular!
$25.00 for all 3 pullets, $10.00 each if bought separately. I kept back these three when I sold out of most of the rest of my polish but since I'm taking up falconry, I need to find a new home for the last 3 fancy girls!!
PM me please, I would prefer pickup since it's hot right now!
I have 2 male mandarins available, possibly a female later once the laying season has ended.
Both males are starting to drop some of their feathers and will soon be going into eclipse plumage.
$20 each plus shipping+box ( $40), $60 total to ship one male, will ship as soon as I get a money...
So chickens will likely have a local home by the end of today!! Yay!!!!!
Yep, I still have scovies waddling around the duck yard too. A hen hatched out 3 young birds...I think all are males in white, black and white pied and chocolate and white. There may be a blue female but I'll have to...
About 10 total, mostly bantams. I have a lot of white crested blue, splash and white. All are young, mostly unsexed.
I have a few in odd colors such as khaki and cuckoo.
A donation towards feed costs would be nice but not required, as I just want them to new homes.
Would like to have them...
Yes, I breed show quality LF black Ameraucanas and will still have them around for egg laying mostly but will probably hatch out some chicks. I've had my ameraucanas for about 5 years now.
I do have pictures but the cable to my external hard drive isn't being picked up by my 5+ year old laptop at the moment. I hope to have it fixed soon. You're welcome to come and see the birds in person as well. Here's some pictures of what I do already have uploaded:
Silver Laced Pair (Male from...
Sorry, no more tolbunts! I sold all of mine to a breeder in MD.
I am located in Churchton, MD 20733. It's about 30 minutes south of annapolis. Would love to get some of the hens local homes rather than having to ship out!
