I used sand on the floor in the coop, in fact I will get up and turn their lamp on for an hour or so before I put them out in the mornings...you know how Mom used to say "always keep your feet warm" lol. As you know the weather around theses parts is crazy, 80 degrees in the day and 45 degrees...
They are almost five weeks old now. They have their heat lamp in their coop as well...we quit using it in the house a while back. Tough love huh?? I have never been any good at that, lol. Will try tonight (again). Thank you redsoxs!
First time chick Mom...here is my dilemma, I have four week old chicks, big girls, lots of feathers. They spend their days in their coop/run, equipped with heat lamp for the chillier days, and at night they sleep in a covered laundry basket on the kitchen table. Getting way too big for this set...
