    Silverton, Oregon. We have had our hens since last Easter. We had 3 but one disappeared last week, and just have two. Neighbors have not seen the missing hen, NO evidence of a predator. She was very friendly so could have followed someone walking down the street if she escaped the backyard...

    unwashed eggs......

    I was washing and refrigerating our eggs till I was educated that they can are just as good and actually better nutrients if they are unwashed and unrefrigerated. I was told that either may take away some of the nutrients. Now they sit on the counter til we use them and have had no problem.

    Do you kiss your chickens?

    I kissed them when they were inside chicks..now they are outside they just get cuddled and scratched. My husband is totally surprised at what PETS these chickens are!

    I think I figured it out

    We just have 3 hens who wander the backyard during the day and head to their coop at dusk. Last week one of them disappeared completely. I found NO evidence of an attack. I did not consider a bird could have taken them away. I am still hoping that she just got out of the yard and followed...
