I didn't realise they could depart so quick. I'm not looking forward to taking them from her, but like you said ill rest assured they are in a nice new home.
I'm expecting chicks from a bantam hen I have. She is sitting on approx 10 at the moment. I've promised someone two of them when they arrive. How long should I wait before giving them away. Is there a normal timescale to leave them with their mother before giving any away?

I'm a bit over concerned about her just abandoning the eggs really. Ill have to use a strategy to get the rest of them through the run at dusk tomorrow after she has gone on into her box. Just in case she chooses her pal over her eggs.
