    Can you cut chickens claws?

    Hi All, I have a chicken who has stopped moving round much. On checking her claws are really long, is it possible to cut them? None of my other birds (same age) have this issue. thanks for any advice.

    yes it looks like there are feathers to come though, so it must be molt. Thank you I will keep an eye on her.

    One of my 2 chickens has lost all her tail feathers quite suddenly, the other is fine. I live in Western Australia so we are just into autumn and I know my ducks get new feathers this time of year, is this the same or should I worry?

    Ok maybe it’s normal, it Is just liquid. We live in Western Australia, it’s been very hot recently and they have been drinking a lot more water. Otherwise they are fine, so I’ll stop worrying 🤪🦆 thanks for the advice

    Thanks for the reply. We really need to feed 1 food as they are all in together When feeding (they free range during the day). We have had them for about a year, on chicken food all the time. Unsure of their ages as they all re-homed. they haven’t been wormed for about 6 months, could worms...

    Hi, I have 8 ducks of mixed breeds, all seem to have really bad diarrhoea for a week or so now. Haven’t changed their food, they are on chicken layer mix as I have chickens also. Any ideas? Thanks

    It’s the strangest thing, she was walking around yesterday afternoon but by the evening she couldn’t walk again. I had to carry her back to the coop. This morning she is walking normally again??

    Thanks for all your advice. She stumbled out of the coop this morning and sat in the shade. I spent several hours constructing a small section of the coop for her with a pool so she could exercise her legs. Turn round and she’s walking almost normally!! She does have diarrhoea though, maybe a virus?

    Thanks, yes I can put her in a small fenced off area. I did examine her legs and no obvious breaks or cuts.

    Looking at those articles again I don’t think it is bumble foot, there is no swelling or redness. I videoed her trying to walk but am unable to upload it here, it’s like her leg joint isn’t holding her weight. Any more ideas?

    There are 2 brown patches on her foot, looks like bumble foot then? Has anyone treated this themselves or would you recommend a vet...novice bird keeper!
