    By the way, this breed of duck is "quackless"! They don't make any noise! This was a major reason why we chose them for our backyard... we didn't want to disturb the neighbors any more than our laying hens (loud) already do. They make very quiet friendly "hissing" sounds when they greet you :)

    Ordered my first batch of chicks!

    Got the call from the post office early this morning... "Come pick up your chicks!". Got them into the brooder we set up in one of our spare rooms for now. All 8 chicks seem to be happy and healthy. More pictures on my instagram page linked in my profile.

    Yay! I'm all set for a much earlier delivery... May 19th, my chicks will be on their way. They had to swap out my easter egger and the speckled sussex for another barred rock and buff orb... i'm ok with that! Picking up all the wood for the coop this weekend!
