Sorry for the bad quality of these but hopefully it helps sex he/she. They had said it's a pullet, so maybe I was just panicking when I saw the single comb but there are very little waddles.
This 12 week old Silkie was sexed as a pullet and sold to me but pretty sure it's a roo. Its got streamers I think and a single comb (not the typical comb) plus acts a bit like a roo, always walking around while the other pullets sun bathe and not paying down with them.
I gave her some electrolytes today and she perked right up. Shes eating well actually. I softened some food with the juice from a tuna can and she gobbled up a lot. I am still worried about the eye. I called all the vets in the area I live in and could not get anyone to treat a chicken...
I have a gorgeous blue laced Wyandotte, Lacy, who went broody 1.5 weeks ago. She was in the main coop in everyone's favorite nest box determined to sit on her eggs. We have 3 other chickens who went in the box daily to lay their eggs and it seemed to be fine but then one chicken got very mean...
We adopted 3 chicks and were told they were pullets, until a few days ago when we heard one chick crow. He is a beautiful, rare Mottled Huodan cockerel, so loved by my son. My son has cried the last few days that we have searched to re-home this baby. Its a healthy, well loved chicken, and hes...
I feel the same about mine... Actually my guy is quite dominant with other chicks. Mine definitely developedvthis way, not an injury. I called the breeder I bought him from who offered another bird, but I love my Piglet (pictured below). I suggested I take the chick to the very but he...
I actually just had the same experience with one of my chicks, who is almost 7 weeks. I love this chick and it spend so much time on my lap as well. As it looked at me I noticed its top beak was slightly to the side. I did a lot of research and scissor beak or cross beak is not something you...
Thank you so so much! I was hoping and thinking maybe they were pullets! means so much that others may think so too. I was so worried the cross beak chick would be a roo and I what his fate would be at the farm. Phew! Fingers crossed we are right! I will update with photos :) xox
I forgot to say they hatched July 22 and are 6.5 weeks old in my above post... also my editor changed roo to "too" and blrw to "blew" *face palm* I am really really bad at posting obvs sorry!
I have 3 babies. 2 blrw and 1 mottled huodan. All feathered quickly and have been outside since 4 weeks with no heat lamp. Sweet chicks. One blrw has a mild cross beak but if its a too we can't keep in our suburb... Worried about no one wanting a too that's less than perfect. Please help me...
Hi! We have 2 blue laced wyandotte chicks, both have feathered very quickly and are easily handled. One has a mild cross beak, so mild I just noticed this week. I have a farm I will take the to if they are roos but would like to know what everyone thinks they are as I find myself obsessed...
