We finally got guineas 3 1/2 years ago in October. Started with 5- 4 month old guinne as, but lost one to the dogs, then another to an owl.
Now they roost in the coop every night with no problem and the dog hangs out with the trio.
We found the first nest when it had 19 eggs. I traded them out for fresh chicken eggs, then the next night Princess started laying. We had them in an incubator for 3 1/2 weeks and now have 16 keets. Now we are trying to learn how to care for the babies..
2nd year, I added 10 chickens hatched from a friend's eggs.
3rd year we hatched 1 egg with my chicken, then hatched 1 more in the incubator. I wanted 1 morre so the new one would have friends, but the store only sold a 4 mininum.
Also added 6 Bronze broadbreasted turkeys. We love these friendly birds. Sometimes too friendly. Very curious.
I have been raising and selling keets and guinea eggs for 3 years now.
