Attaching Polycarbonate roof to cattle panel?

Time for the diy! Would love to see pictures or hear feedback once you get your hands in there and find out what's actually going to work.

Attaching Polycarbonate roof to cattle panel?

For example, could you cut off a one foot section of wavy polycarb, and attach that underneath the cattle panel below where you puncture the roofing panel? Use that one foot section kind of as like a gutter, so any water that comes through is drained away (or drained into a waterer for the...

Attaching Polycarbonate roof to cattle panel?

I'm not sure how to apply this to wavy polycarbonate with the cattle panel, but for my flat panel roofs, I have a piece of wood that the polycarb is drilled into, and the wood runs the length of the panel in the angled direction. 95% of the water that goes through the holes runs down the wood...

Attaching Polycarbonate roof to cattle panel?

I've not worked with wavy panels before, lots of experience with flat, but my first thought is to use wire to weave through the cattle panel, then go over the top of the poly panel in a valley, and tie tightly, making a loop. Another option is drill two holes in the poly on each side of a cattle...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I like to drive around local suburbs on large item trash pickup day! It's mine blowing what good stuff people will set out for the landfill. I've gotten rolls of fencing, chicken tractors, rabbit cages, dog kennels, screen doors, 4x4x8s, wood flooring, and more this way, most of which were in...

Horizonal Nipples Still Freezing Even With Deicer

Glad you were able to find a solution! This looks like a great setup. Best to you and your flock!

Horizonal Nipples Still Freezing Even With Deicer

A couple thoughts, the first is that deicers and heaters cycle. I find my heated goat tank ices over in the off cycle when it's this cold, and then when the cycle turns back on it gets rid of the ice. That can be in the space of a few hours. I have not had this problem with my chicken one...

    Duck attacked

You may have a spelling error in your title 😉 Is she holding her neck awkwardly or have any other symptoms? Any bulges in her neck, and if so, where? Is she walking at all oddly or moving her wings oddly? It is possible for the mink to have severely damaged her vertebra, spinal cord, brain...

    Hatching chicks in class

The second one will likely make it, even if it takes a little longer to hatch. Hatching is hard work. The other eggs may still come through too, it's very common for a hatch to be spread over a day. No need to worry yet, I'd just wait and see, and check in again tomorrow!

Is this a boy Mille fleur d’uccle

@lilmillefleur For my own curiosity, do your D'uccles ever mature that slowly? I love my D'uccles, I have them from three different sources, and every one of the bunch is clearly sexable by 8 weeks, most are obvious by 4 or 5 weeks. I love them for being so early and easy to tell! Also, what...

Flock Introductions - How few is too few?

That's probably what I would do! The tractor would also allow the two groups to see each other, which is makes integration easier. There is a low risk of the new birds carrying anything, especially if you can get someone else's extra hatchery pullets (auction or swap birds seem highest risk in...

Is this a boy Mille fleur d’uccle

If one is indeed crowing, perhaps these could be sebright crosses? Sebrights are henfeathered, meaning the roosters do not show typical rooster feather characteristics. They are capable of passing this trait on when crossbred. If someone is actually crowing, this seems more likely. Purebred...
