All the maggots are off of her now. There was only one or two left on her after her other baths. That wound in the picture looks much worse than it really was. there is no depth, it was all on the skin level. We are drying her off and keeping her in the chicken hospital area. We will continue to...

the wound is below her vent. We will re-soak her again tomorrow morning. I saw in the article we will need to do that 2 or 3 times a day every day until it starts to heal. I will also get some vetericyn to keep the area clean and dry.

Maggots on one of my girls.

I can't tell how deep that wound is. I will go pick up some Vetericyn first thing tomorrow, Thank you for the advice. I do not have a avian vet near me, is this something that a regular vet may be able to help with or is it something that i would even need to take her in for in the first place?

Maggots on one of my girls.

I have a two-year-old girl who we thought was egg bound. While giving her an Epson salt bath we noticed a ton of worms in the water. I went to my local supply store and picked up the only wormer that I could find which was Zyfend A. I am planning on starting the treatment with the whole flock...

    Dog attack

She is still clucking. She is in a safe xl dog kennel with plenty of food and water. She gets neosporin and vetercyn everyday. And as long as infection doesn't set in I think she has a really good chance!
