Once in a while i would find one on the floor where they perch. I got them up a few minutes earlier every day with a timer, So far so good. They would eat an egg if it was broken, butmostly left them alone. Maybe, I just got lucky. good luck
I think mine are starting to molt for the first time. We take the feathers out of the coop, leave them in the yard for the birds to feather their nests.
I have two chickens that occasionally sleep in a different area, I used to put them on the roost, then i figured maybe they wanted peace for a night. I can relate, so, I leave them alone.
I put 3 BSL with 7 white leghorns (all girls) it took a couple months
for them to even sit next to each other. 4 months later,BSL's sleep with the leghorns. They had to get their pecking order established. So far so good. Good Luck!
