    Broken eggs on coop floor

Once in a while i would find one on the floor where they perch. I got them up a few minutes earlier every day with a timer, So far so good. They would eat an egg if it was broken, butmostly left them alone. Maybe, I just got lucky. good luck

To Light or not to Light?

I use a light to give them 12 hours of daylight in winter. They stay out for 14 hours in summer on their own.

    Is it wrong...

I will grab an egg out from under a hen. It sometimes takes them forever to get off.

Mine did that a few times, I put a light on a timer to get them up earlier. It seems to do the trick.

    Lazy hens...

I think mine are starting to molt for the first time. We take the feathers out of the coop, leave them in the yard for the birds to feather their nests.

    The Odd Ball

I have two chickens that occasionally sleep in a different area, I used to put them on the roost, then i figured maybe they wanted peace for a night. I can relate, so, I leave them alone.

    Hen squabbles

I put 3 BSL with 7 white leghorns (all girls) it took a couple months for them to even sit next to each other. 4 months later,BSL's sleep with the leghorns. They had to get their pecking order established. So far so good. Good Luck!
