    Freezing right away?

    I just processed my first roosters Saturday. We will be having one for dinner tomorrow night. There was no rigor when we put it in the freezer bag. It has been in the fridge since Saturday morning. Hope it tastes great.

    You're right they are easy to tell pretty early. It of my 8 straight run l had six hens and two roosters. I got lucky. They are just beginning to lay now. Love the darker egg color. Much different than my Welsummer and marans.

    My 16 ducks share a pasture with my 4 goats and the grass is fine. They have numerous water tubs and l move them often. They do get very excited when l dump their tubs and will do their little dabbing move. I do have Muscovy though so maybe that is why l don't have an issue with my grass.

    best feeders/waterers for adult ducks

    Many people use the electric dog bowls that keep the water from freezing. I have also heard of people using aquarium heaters but l don't know how safe that is. They also make heated buckets. Hope these ideas help.

    I understand. I have almost 4 acres but we used electric poultry netting to keep the flocks apart. I have a solar charger so we can move it around.
