Desert dwellers...how bout them chickens?
Thanks everyone for the advice. For those that are wondering I have an Easter egger and two Dominiques. They're doing okay for now. I provided them a large roof and threw in an additional water dispenser. I'm also attempting to grow grass in some parts of their run, so I'm wetting the soil in...- arayok

Is it okay to use a rusty water dispenser?
My uncle use to raise chickens and gave me his old water dispenser. It has a little rust on the bottom and the water clears up when you pour it in. I'm still nervous about using it for my babies. Any thoughts?- arayok

Desert dwellers...how bout them chickens?
So I live in Tucson and I know that there are a lot of people that live in the city to raise chickens, but my biggest concern is the fact that the summers here are pretty harsh (for humans). Venus, although just a chick right now, is very motherly and patient. I bought her with another chick and Venus literally took it under her wing for the first night. I never seen that happen. I thought Venus would be startled or not engaging, but they both bonded fairly well. She's one cool bird.- arayok

I just barely bought Verna and from what I see she's very friendly and social. I've heard many things about her type and she's a very sweet pet. Since she's a chick, she has light blue baby feathers and sticks to the bigger chick, Venus.- arayok
