    in the coop, add a new layer of shavings once a month unless it starts looking bad and packed down, i throw a little wheat or cracked corn in mine every day and let the chickens do the work of keeping it mixed up.....sofar no smell and looks good..it has to stay dry or this wont work.

    does anyone have their feed mill mix your layer feed?

    no actually buying in bulk is cheaper, i used to have them do it for steers,, i guess what im asking is what would a good mix consist of?

    howdy from WV

    have read for a few weeks now and decided to join the crowd,im working on a coop now and need some new chickens soon,,,,,i raise beef cattle and some 4-h lambs so i figured i needed a few cluckers running around also.
