    Ah! I suspected EE, I didn't think the feed store had true ones. What makes it so easier to tell? She is DEFINIETLY acting erratic. She's picking up the duck down and tossing it in the air and running in and out. Maybe it'll be just a few more days.

    Yep! Layer feed, oyster shells, plenty of water. Clean boxes, clean coop. She's out there singing her egg song now again, but isn't laying.

    My ladies are 21 weeks. My two ducks have been laying for 2 weeks, but nothing from my hens yet. I put some ceramic eggs in the boxes and within 5 minutes heard my egg laying song! Ran out, nothing:/ but my amerucana is getting on about something, just not sure what. I've never had one talk to...

    Good to know about the hatchery chicks (where all mine will come from). I was worried about that one being a cockerel, bc of the comb and wattle being so brightly red already, this early. Thank you all for your help!!

    I'm thinking they're both females bc of the black wash, just so confused why ones coloring is so different from any other barred rocks I've seen. Below is my "normal colored one" and the chick in question is after her, thanks!!

    I have two barred rocks that are 5 weeks and almost fully feathered. One is getting its white stripes like normal, but one is actually getting darker. Any thoughts? They're right next to each other in the picture.

    My ladies are about 10.5 weeks old. I know roosters generally have bigger combs at this age, but this ladies tail feathers are significantly larger than my other 8.     Day 29 of incubation and nothing?

    My eggs that we found, we know they are mallard and they're on day 29 (since we found them) of incubation. I know they have developed, but there is no piping and no movement when candled. Does this mean they all didn't survive or is it possible that they just need to incubate longer?

    I've googled and searched, but I can't find a consistent answer. At what point do I move ducklings from the incubator to the brooder?
