hi, I probably know more than I should about chickens. I once had nearly 300 of them...but that was in Iowa. Apparently, Arkansas is a whole new place. I have two independent gents that haunt my woods, sleep on my deck table and terrorize my cat colony. ( Rhode Island Red Roo and Pheonix Roo ). They came from the auction house with hens. Varmints in these parts like the taste of hens, but not Grumpy old men. By far the Alpha animals just now are my Harlequin Ducks; commanding both cats and Labradors, patrolling the land with tenacity.
